Summary
Total Ability is introducing the Swiss-made Joysteer® 3.0 advanced electronic driving system to the Australian and New Zealand market.
In a new partnership with Swiss company Bozzio AG, Total Ability are making the Joysteer® 3.0 system available to people in Australia and New Zealand with acute physical restrictions, giving them the opportunity to drive as safely and confidently as any other driver.
Joysteer® 3.0 is being launched on the 20th anniversary of founding of Bozzio AG, and is the culmination of two decades of research and development by the company.
Originating from the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Bozzio AG collaborates with partners like the Swiss Paraplegic Centre.
Joysteer® 3.0 is approved by the German-Austrian TÜV (Technical Inspection Association) which provides globally recognised certification, ensuring such systems meet strict safety and regulatory standards through rigorous inspections.
Using ‘drive by wire’ technology, the flexibility of Joysteer® 3.0 with its variety of ‘input devices’ (read ‘driving controls’) and ease of installation, could be a game-changer in Australia and New Zealand, overcoming many of the barriers-to-entry for people looking to drive with more severe physical limitations.
Total Ability will be offering demonstrations of Joysteer® 3.0, fitting the system to several of our High-Level Assessment Vans.
This gives Specialist Driving Instructors, Driver Trained Occupational Therapists and their clients the opportunity to get ‘hands-on’ with the new equipment as part of Total Ability’s new High-Level assessment process.
