Fadiel Italiana

Empowering Independence Through Innovation

Since 1992, Fadiel Italiana has been at the forefront of producing innovative driving controls and vehicle access products, empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve independence and freedom.

With a commitment to continuous innovation, they have consistently reinvested in enhancing existing products and developing new, life-changing devices, enabling people with physical disabilities to drive and travel with confidence.

The Fadiel Italiana journey began in the late 1970s with Fabio Domeneghini, a talented young engineer working at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport.

Faced with the challenge of safely and efficiently transferring wheelchair users onto airplanes, Fabio designed and built a folding platform that could be adapted for various situations at the airport, providing easy access.

This invention laid the foundation for what Fadiel Italiana is today. Fabio eventually left his job at the airport to establish his own company, Fadiel Italiana, which stands for “FAbbrica DIspositivi ELettroidraulici” (Factory of Electrohydraulic Devices).

The Italian and Australian Connection

In 2006, after sustaining a spinal cord injury, Australian Paul Crake and his Italian fiancée, Daniela, were living in Italy.

Determined to help Paul regain his independence, Daniela discovered Fadiel Italiana and their industry-leading Satellite Accelerator.

With the newly installed equipment, Paul was able to drive again, experiencing a renewed sense of independence that greatly improved his mental well-being.

Upon returning to Australia, Paul found that the driving equipment available there was far less advanced than what he had used in Italy.

This realisation sparked a new business idea. In 2011, Paul and Daniela founded Total Ability, becoming the exclusive distributors of Fadiel Italiana in Australia and New Zealand.

Their efforts have ensured that both countries now have access to Fadiel Italiana’s world-class driving controls and accessibility equipment, bringing greater independence to countless individuals.
